Fiesta Mayor in Cerdanyola!!

THis weekendwas fiesta Mayor here in Cerdanyolaand it was awesome just getting to hang with my friends and party all weekend! last night we went to go see a concert(Obrint pas) which is a band that sings a lot about getting catalunya to be independent! I had an awesome time with my friends and Now for another week of school!

Semana santa

Latley I have been quite busy with a lot of things and especially with this week being semana santa! Semana santa is basically holy week and this week has been very interesting because I traveled to galicia( the part of spain above portugal) and did the camino de Santiago. I traveled to the camino de Santiago with a few friends from here in Catalunya and had a good time on the train ride, even though the train ride was 12 hours long. when we had finally gotten to the place we were starting from,in Sarria, it was night time and all the other students had already arrived. During the camino de Santiago we were walking about 25km per day( about 18 miles I think). We had walked for 5 days overall and i didn't get blisters until the fifth day!! Some people had gotten blisters on the second and third day, but not me and i was wearing my shoes with holes in them so my shoes were wet the last 3 days because of the rain. At the end whenever we had arrived at the Cathederal it all seemed worth the pain because it was just beautiful there in the city and an amazing Cathederal.

While we were staying in Santiago de Compostela Madirid and barcelona played against eachother and Madrid won. it was a sad night for me and my friends because we like Barcelona better. It was an interesting night because I was very loud and yelling at everyone about the game, everyone was laughing at me, because there the people liked Madrid better but I live in Barcelona.

Today was a very special holiday here in Catalunya because it is Sant Jordi. this holiday is prettty much a holiday in which a man gives a woman or a girl he likes a rose and she gives him a book. Today was very interesting in Barcelona because everyone was out bying books and roses but also the were authors signing the books for the people for free.

Also a few weeks ago I had gone to a Barcelona game against Alemeria and Barcelona had won, 3-1, against them and it was awesome to see a game in person there at Camp Nou because it can hold over 95,000 people and it was amazing because the were 80,400 that night and it was crazy!!!

This week should end well and this coming up weekend i will be going to the costa brava to go for a walk and hang with a friend. Thanks for supporting me everyone!!! you guys keep me going!!

6th Month

So everyone it is so hard to belive that I have already been here for six months, only four more to go! This year has felt lke the longest and the shortest year of my life, But yet all the greatest year of my life aswell!! I don't regret a thing about this year and I can tell it will only get better until I have to leave.

In the last month quite a bit has happend such as the last orientation, hanging out with some friends going out to basketball games, out to parties and so on. This week we have Carnival in school and Satuday in the town so it should be really fun. We also have a week off of school this coming up week called semana blanca and hopefully I'll get to be with some friends and hang with some of the other exhcange students here in the area.

My spanish is doing great and my catalán is improving and I'm pretty happy that I'm going to be tri-lengual by July. I love Barcelona the city and just the area around here it is a beautiful place to live and all the people are real nice. Well thank y'all for y'alls support, y'all are the people who keep me going!!

MONTH THREE!!

So I have oficially been here for three months now and I am so much happier here in Catalunya. I am having a great time up here with all of my new friends and in my new school. Catalan is dificult for me at the moment but it is similar enough to spanish that I understand some of the classes. All of the classes are in catalan and everybody pretty much speaks catalan to eachother. I am involved in the university gym and trying to get involved in a school soccer team, I am happy with myslef and how involved I am with the school and with the family.

This week we were off since last friday until wednesday and over the weekend I went and bought some new soccer shoes for playing at school during patio. The family and I went to a Castle in Cardona and it was beautiful, I also went to see Harry Potter 7 in spanish and I am happy because I understood alot of it.

I will wrap this up by saying that I am having a great time and that everything is great. I would also like to thank all of my friends and family supporting me through the hard times I have had and everyone for helping me get here!!

Catalunya!!!

So, hello everyone and I would liek to start out by apologizing for not updating like I said I would,but so very much has happened since the last time. Not all good in some eyes but it has improved my stay here. Well I have changed families from my last one in Jaén, to a new family that is in a town called Cerdanyola del Valles. In the house I have one host sister whose name is Ainara and my host parents names are Josep( my host dad) and Lourdes(my host mom) my host dad in an industrail engineer for somewhere in barcelons and my host mom is a psycologist. We live in a decent sized house and it is really comfortable here.

My new school is really nice, quite small but nice. The teachers are all nice and the kids all talk to me and invite me out to hang with them. I have already made a new group of friends in a week of being here and it is just so great being here. I am thinking of joining a free soccer team here with the school to get more involved and keep in shape. I still have lost quite abit of weight and it has concerned me but im not in bad condition. I have gained some weight back making me happy.

Orientation this weekend!!

Hey everyone, I am just wanting to update everyone on what is going on I hve just started school within the last week but have the next week off starting thrsday if I undertand correctly. Things here are going good I have hit a few rouggh patches but things are going ok now. I have made some friends that I have hung out with a couple of times and it is fun using my spansih all the time and even more fun when I don know a word and they try to look it up then tell it to me in english, it is the best they are awesome I love alot of teh kids here. The town it self is really small like not much to do, besides the Disco but my group of friends dont go to the Disco much they said. Well that is all for now thank you bye.

I am officially in Fuensanta Now!!

I have just arrived at loli and jorges( my host family) today here at 2pm and it had a ood car ride home it has been fun using only spanish but it is still difficult.I cant say much at the moment but I have arrived saftely Thanks
